Hence, to raise awareness and promote the importance of having easy access to protein for a healthy and well-balanced diet, February 27 is marked annually as National Protein Day.

According to the website, the topic of this year’s National Protein Day celebration is “Easy Access to Protein for All.” The subject is to highlight and promote the need for simple access to protein as a component of a wholesome and adequately balanced diet. The theme also stresses on the need for civilians to advocate for greater accessibility and affordability of protein in South Asian nations.

National Protein Day 2023: History

As part of a national health movement, the Right to Protein awareness campaign launched National Protein Day in India in the year 2020. Using the hashtag #ProteinMeinKyaHai (What does protein have? ), Protein Day was first observed on February 27, 2020.

The protein-O-Meter on the Right to Protein website lets users know how much protein they should consume each day to be healthy. The RDA is 0.8 grammes of protein for every kilogramme of body weight (RDA). However the intake percentage varies between consumers.
